Performance Painting
Dance performers and stage entertainers inspired Maria to experiment with speed painting performances as a senior at the Professional Children’s School in 2016. Speed painting served to combine both performance and two-dimensional art. During her performances, she paints an upside-down image on a board in a short time, finally rotating the canvas 180 degrees and surprising her viewers with a stencil of a famous artist. She has performed in various spaces across New York and Bogotá, Colombia.
